Attempt To Evade RIDE Ends With Charges

(Bancroft, ON) – In the late evening on December 31, 2016 officers of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were conducting an R.I.D.E check in Faraday Township when a motor vehicle approaching the officers attempted to evade them. The vehicle was stopped a short time later.

As officers spoke with the driver and passengers of the vehicle it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been consuming alcohol.

As per the investigation the female passenger was arrested on reasonable grounds for a theft which occurred at a local business in the Town of Bancroft on December 28, 2016.

Kayla LIDTKIE, 27 years of Brudenell-Lyndoch-Raglan Township has been charged with Theft under $5000 and fail to comply with Probation order.

LIDTKIE was held for bail on January 01, 2017 at the Ontario court of Justice in Belleville Ontario.

Blake HILLSON, 21 years of Highlands East was charged with Drive motor vehicle – no licence and Careless driving both contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
