On January 17, 2014 at 8:30 p.m., the Guelph Police attended to a variety store located on Willow Road to investigate an attempted robbery. It is alleged that a male entered the store alone and pulled a touque down over his face to conceal his identity from the employees. He then approached the counter where he advised the clerk that he was robbing them and indicated that he had a gun in his jacket pocket. He then fled the store without any merchandise. He was located by police a short distance away and was arrested.
Brian HOOEY, 52 years of Durham has been charged with attempt robbery, disguise with intent and breach of OIC undertaking. He will appear in court on January 20, 2014.
