MVC PERSONAL INJURY

On January 16, 2014 at approximately 6:42pm, a Mazda MWG being driven by a 17 year old Waterloo female, was travelling westbound on Northfield Dr. Also in the vehicle was a 17 yr. old Waterloo female passenger. At the same time an International cement mixer truck was being driven by a 65 yr. old Puslinch man. As the two vehicles approached each other the Mazda went partially onto the north shoulder then swerved left into the oncoming lane before colliding head on with the cement truck. The front of the Mazda underrode the cement truck and caused the driver of the Mazda to be trapped. She was eventually extricated from the vehicle by Fire crews. She was transported to hospital by ambulance where she was treated for minor injuries. She was kept overnight for observation before being released in the morning. Her passenger was treated for minor injuries at hospital and released. The driver of the cement mixer was not injured. The investigation into this collision is continuing.
