An officer was on general patrol and observed a small group of young adults consuming alcohol next to an Allandale variety store. During the investigation, the officer attempted to arrest a 24 year old Guelph woman for Public Intoxication. As the officer was arresting the female, she began to punch and kick the officer. A struggle ensued and the female armed herself with a knife. As the officer restrained the suspect on the ground, she threw the knife to one of her male associates and directed him to attack the officer. Luckily, the male ignored her. The female continually threatened to kill the officer as the arrest was completed. She was charged with Assault Peace Officer with a Weapon, Utter Threats and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. She was released once sober with a future court date. The officer was not injured.
