(TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH) – At approximately 12:20 AM, on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were called to Banting Memorial High School, regarding a fire at the rear of the building.
New Tecumseth Fire Services, and Simcoe Paramedics also attended the scene.
Witnesses observed at least three persons in the area and noticed smoke and flames coming from the rear of the building.
Officers attended the same location during the early morning hours of Sunday, July 11, 2016, when a portable toilet was set on fire.
Nottawasaga Detachment members have been called to the scene of seven (7) fires that have occurred within the town over the past six (6) weeks.
