(Prince Edward County, ON)â€â€On September 03, 2013 at 7:19pm the Ontario Provincial Police received information of a stolen motor vehicle that was travelling through Prince Edward County. The vehicle in question had been reported to Napanee OPP earlier in the day. An officer with the Ontario Provincial Policeâ€â€Prince Edward County detachment stopped the suspect vehicle on County Road 5 in the Ward of Sophiasburg. The male driver had also been involved in a theft of gas incident from a gas station in the City of Belleville. The investigation into the driver revealed that he was a prohibited driver.
19-year old Gary JANSEN of Stone Mills, ON was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing in Belleville court today.
The accused is charged with the following offences:
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, contrary to Section 354(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Theft, contrary to Section 334 of the Criminal Code of Canada (x2).
Operation While Disqualified, contrary to Section 259(4)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
