(HUNTSVILLE, ON) Over the past few months the many people who attended the Canada Summit Centre on Park Dr. in Huntsville has fallen victim to thefts of their property.
Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had several complaints from patrons using the pool, and families who had their kids enrolled in hockey. Several articles had gone missing including electronics, jewelry and clothing. On Tuesday October 14, 2014 Huntsville OPP had more complaints of property that had gone missing from the change rooms of the Don Lough hockey arena.
Investigation led to the arrest of Richard SMILSKY (55yrs) currently from Huntsville, Ontario. A search warrant conducted by the Huntsville detachment members including the Muskoka Crime Unit and Crime Abatement members led to the recovery of several items. The accused has been charged with several offences including
Resist Arrest
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x6
Theft under $5000.00
Fail to Comply with Probation order X2
Huntsville OPP is looking to return property that has not been reported taken. If anyone has had articles go missing from the arena or the pool area of the Summit Centre, they are asked to attend Huntsville detachment during the week of October 20th, 2014 and speak to the Muskoka Crime Unit.
Investigation is continuing and more charges are pending.
