Armed Robbery

(THE BLUE MOUNTAINS, ON) Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit are currently investigating a robbery incident that took place overnight at a convenience store in The Blue Mountains.

On the 22nd of December 2015 at approximately 1:20am, officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP were dispatched to the Mac’s Convenience store on Highway 26 near Grey Road 19 for a report of a robbery. Initial investigation found that a male, dressed in black with his face covered as well, entered the store brandishing a knife. The suspect requested money however the employee was unable to access the cash register and the suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.

The incident also led to the OPP Canine Unit and OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) being dispatched to the scene to conduct a search of the area however the suspect was not located.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’5” tall with a slight build with some hair growth around the neck area. He was wearing a black nylon insulated jacket, black hoodie, a black ski mask covering his face, black gloves, black pants and black shoes and carrying a back pack.
