App Used To Locate Stolen Tablet – 20 Year Old Charged

(North Kawartha Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Property Crime Unit began to investigate after a Selwyn Township woman complained that her Samsung Tablet was stolen.

The victim advised officers that, through an app, she was able to trace the tablet. Investigators executed a search warrant on an address on Hulls Road in North Kawartha Township on October 21, 2016. Police did locate and recovered the stolen tablet from inside the residence.

Earlier today, police charged Daniel Levi-Morgan BENNETT (age 20) of North Kawartha Township with:

Theft under $5000

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on November 24, 2016.
