(SAUGEEN FIRST NATION, ON) – On October 7, 2016 at 7:30 p.m., the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint of an erratic driver operating a white 2006 Pontiac, in the area of Cameron Drive and French Bay Road, Saugeen First Nation.
Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. A roadside test was administered which resulted in a “fail.” The driver was arrested and transported to the Bruce Peninsula Detachment for further breath tests.
Andrew CAMERON, age 58, of Saugeen First Nation, has been charged with drive over 80 milligrams of alcohol.
He is scheduled to appear before the Walkerton Court of Justice on October 19, 2016, to answer to the charges.
The Bruce Peninsula OPP is requesting citizens to report if you see an impaired driver to call 911.
Provide Police with the following information:
State you are following or have seen an impaired driver.
State your location.
State the description of the vehicle, including licence plate, colour make and model.
State the direction of travel.
Give a description of the driver.
