ALLEGATION OF ROBBERY LEADS TO MISCHIEF CHARGE

(TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH, ON)- On Sunday January 12, 2014 at 6:37 pm, Officers from the Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a weapons call indicating that robbery by knife-point that had allegedly taken place on Dunham Drive in the Town of New Tecumseth.

Officers arrived on scene within seconds, collecting information from the victim, who alleged he was robbed of several hundred dollars at knifepoint in the parking lot of the local business.

It was quickly determined by the OPP Officers at the scene and the Nottawasaga Crime Unit that the robbery allegation was untrue.

Charged is 28 year old Town of New Tecumseth resident Dale Alexander DOBO, he is charged with one count of Public Mischief and will appear in court on February 13, 2014 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford, Ontario to deal with this charge.

A public mischief charge according to the Criminal Code of Canada is best described as any intent to mislead a peace officer to enter into an investigation by making a false statement, doing anything that causes someone else to be investigated for a criminal offence and/or reporting an offence that has not been committed.
