70 Year Old Gets Stop Sign Ticket Following Fatal Collision

The driver involved in a two vehicle collision that claimed the life of a Lakeshore man on July 18, 2016 on Essex County Road 23 at South Middle Road in Lakeshore, Ontario has been charged.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Lakeshore Fire Service and Essex Windsor Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection at approximately 2:20 p.m.

A Chevrolet minivan and a Mercedes Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) collided at the intersection.

The driver of the minivan was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Mercedes was taken to an area hospital with life threatening injuries but has since been released.

A 70 year old Lakeshore woman has been charged with Disobey Stop Sign – Fail To Stop, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
