7 PEOPLE CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING IN THE RAINY RIVER DISTRICT

(Fort Frances, ON) During the month of October 2013, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Rainy River District Detachment charged 7 people with drinking and driving related offences.

Shortly after 7:00 pm on October 10, 2013, officers responded to an assistance call from Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Conservation Officers who believed they had a male operating an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) while impaired. Officers attended the scene on Flanders Road in the area of Warner Lake. As a result of an investigation at the scene, Bryan CARON (61) of the Atikokan Area was charged criminally with one count of operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood.

Shortly after 1220 am on October 18, 2013 officers noted a suspicious vehicle at the McDonald’s parking lot on King’s Highway in Fort Frances. An investigation at the scene, Skye BLACKBURDE (23) of Alberton Township was charged criminally with one count of operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood.

Shortly after 1:00 am on October 20, 2013 officers responded to a report of a 2 vehicle motor vehicle collision on King’s Highway in Fort Frances. As a result of an investigation at the scene, Donna SMITH (51) of Thunder Bay was charged criminally with one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and one count of refuse to provide a breath sample.

Shortly after 2:00 am on October 20, 2013 officers conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle for a violation of the Highway Traffic Act on Second Street East in Fort Frances. As a result of an investigation at the scene, Charles DE BUNGEE (23) of Kenora, Ontario was charged criminally with one count of operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with one count of driving while under suspension.

Shortly after 3:00 am on October 26, 2013 officers conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle for a violation of the Highway Traffic Act. As a result of an investigation at the scene, Joshua LITTLEDEER (28) of Fort Frances has been charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood.

Shortly after 12:20 pm on October 27, 2013 officers responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Hwy 11 in Crozier Township. As a result of an investigation at the scene David BAXTER (36) of Alberton Township has been charged criminally with one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle, one count of operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood. He has also been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with one count of Driving while under suspension.

Shortly after 11:00 pm on October 31, 2013, officers responded to the area of Fourth Street West in Fort Frances for a report of a possible impaired driver. The vehicle in question was located and a traffic stop was initiated. As a result of an investigation at the scene, James GLADU (32) of Fort Frances was charged criminally with one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle as well as one count of refusing to provide a breath sample.
