(LEAMINGTON ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police were called to a store in Leamington this morning after a vehicle unexpectedly accelerated and drove into the front of the building.
Shortly after 11:00 am this date a Honda Pilot being driven by a 60 year old woman pulled up to the Spartan Nutrition store located on Talbot Street West. At this time it appears the driver inadvertently stepped on the accelerator in her vehicle causing it to accelerate rapidly resulting in her vehicle driving completely through the front plate glass window ending up completely inside the store.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The only person in the store was a single employee who was not hurt.
There was extensive to the building, while damage to the vehicle is minor.
