(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – On October 29, 2014 officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Drug Enforcement Unit and Northumberland OPP Street Response Unit attended two rural properties where illegal marihuana ‘grows’ were located.
Police removed 300 plants from a Thomas Road property in Alnwick-Haldimand Township and 104 plants from a Morton Road property in Hamilton Township. In both cases, the marihuana plants were situated in a corn field. Total street value of the drugs is estimated at $400,000.
No persons have been arrested and the matter remains under investigation.
