(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On Saturday November 4, 2017 at approximately 12:00 a.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a 2009 Acura TL travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 141 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
34-year-old Trong Minh PHUONG of Guelph has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on December 20, 2017.His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
