(Peterborough, ON) – On Tuesday September 30th 2014, members of the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau –Drug Enforcement Section (OCEB-DES), Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit and Emergency Response Team) executed three Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrants at two addresses in the City of Peterborough and at a rural property in the Gooderham area.
As a result of an ongoing investigation; the following three CDSA Search warrants were executed and property seized:
#1- Fortesque Lake Road Property, Township of Highlands East.
– 218 marihuana plants
– 14 pounds of drying marihuana bud
– digital scales
#2- King George Street Residence, City of Peterborough.
– 5 marihuana plants
– 568 grams of vacuum packaged marihuana
– 2 grams of cocaine
– digital scales and a vacuum sealing machine
#3 – Armour Road Residence, City of Peterborough
– 2 ounces of cocaine
– Drug Debt list
– digital scales
– cross bow
– ASP Baton
Subsequently 3 adults and one young person were arrested and charged with the following offences:
1) Brian BURRETT, 47 years of age of Peterborough, Ontario
– Section 7(1) CDSA – “Production of Controlled Substance†– 2 counts
– Section 5(2) CDSA – “Possession For The Purpose of Trafficking: Marihuana – 2 counts
– Section 5(2) CDSA – “Possession For the Purpose of Trafficking: Cocaine
– Section 4(1) CDSA – “Possession of Cocaineâ€
– Section 117.01(1) Criminal Code of Canada – “ Possession of a Cross Bow While Prohibitedâ€
2) Trica GOHEEN, 40 years of age of Peterborough, Ontario
– Section 7(1) CDSA – “Production of a Controlled Substanceâ€
– Section 5(2) CDSA – “Possession For The Purpose of Trafficking: Marijuanaâ€
– Section 4(1) CDSA – “Possession of Cocaineâ€
3) Scott MCKINNON, 46 years of age of Township of Highlands East
– Section 7(1) CDSA – “ Production of a Controlled Substanceâ€
– Section 5(2) CDSA – “Possession For The Purpose of Trafficking: Marihuanaâ€
Approximate value of the seized drugs was $120,000.00.
Brian Burrett was held in custody for a bail hearing scheduled for October 1st, 2014 at Peterborough Provincial Court.
Scott McKinnon and Tricia Goheen were released from custody and scheduled to appear at Peterborough Provincial Court on November 13th, 2014
