28 Year Old From Grand Bend Gets Drunk Driving Charge In Owen Sound

On Wednesday June 8 th , 2016 just before 11:30 pm, Owen Sound Police Service initiated a vehicle stop at the intersection of 9 th Avenue and 16 th Street East in relation to an offence under the Highway Traffic Act. During the traffic stop the investigating officer detected the odour of alcohol on the male driver’s breath and demanded the driver provide a sample of his breath for analysis.

As a result of the investigation, a 28 year old male from Grand Bend, has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while having over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The male also faces numerous charges under the Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. The driver’s vehicle has been impounded for the mandatory 7 day period and his driver’s licence suspended for 90 days. The male will be appearing in court on June 23 rd , 2016 to answer to the charges.
