(BATTERSEA, ON) – On September 18, 2015 at approximately 12:45AM, officers of the Northumberland detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a 23-year-old male for a driving offence on Highway 401, Port Hope. As a result of their investigation, officers provided information to Frontenac OPP that a death may have occurred at a location on Trillium Lane, South Frontenac.
The Frontenac OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of OPP Detective Inspector Dan Nadeau, Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), attended and located John WATTS, 65 of Ajax, ON, deceased at the scene.
Twenty-three (23) year-old Robert John WATTS, of Ajax, the son of the victim, is charged with 2nd Degree Murder. He appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice, Kingston, ON today and was remanded into custody to appear on September 22, 2015.
The investigation is continuing.
