(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On March 29, 2016, at approximately 7:34 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a male while in the Township of Southgate in connection to a domestic-related incident.
Investigation revealed that on March 24th the victim had returned to her residence in the Township of Southgate after she had been assaulted by the accused while outside of Grey County.
On March 29th, the accused contacted the victim via telephone, uttering threats to her and her property. Later that day, he attended the victim’s location and committed an assault on her. He then entered her vehicle and drove it onto the lawn causing damage to it by performing “donuts”.
The 21-year old accused, of no fixed address, was arrested and held for a bail hearing. He remains in custody pending a court appearance scheduled for April 4, 2016 in Owen Sound. He has been charged with the following offences:
– Assault – Spousal (x2)
– Uttering Death Threats – Spousal
– Mischief Under $5000
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
– Class G1 Licence Holder – Unaccompanied by Qualified Driver (HTA)
– Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle (HTA)
– Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance (CAIA)
There were no injuries reported.
