19 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested – Name Released

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On October 21, 2016 at approximately 9:21 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single motor collision on Beatty Line near Side Road 10 in Centre Wellington Township involving a 2005 pick-up truck into a fence post.

Officers arrived at the scene and observed a male seated in the driver’s seat area of the pick-up truck. While speaking with the male an odour of alcohol was detected on his breath and obvious signs of possible impairment were also noted. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and taken to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

19-year-old Tyler WADDEN of Fergus has been charged with Care or Control While Impaired and Care or Control Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on November 4, 2016 to answer to the charges.

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
