19 Year Old Charged In Hit And Run Of Skateboarder

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – An investigation led by members of the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has revealed the identity of the driver responsible for a fail to remain motor vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 6, Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.

The driver, Crystal BELL (19) of the Town of South Bruce Peninsula, has been charged with:

– Fail to report accident, contrary to section 199(1) of the Highway Traffic Act

– Fail to yield from a private driveway, contrary to section 139(1) of the Highway Traffic Act

BELL is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on July 13th, 2015.

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On June 19th, 2015 at 11:30p.m., members of the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fail to remain motor vehicle collision on Highway 6 between Nicholas Street and Chi Sin Tib Dek Road, Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula (Tobermory).

Investigation revealed that a grey or blue 4 door Mazda was travelling on Highway 6 and struck a 33 year old male while he was riding his skateboard. The driver then fled the area in which the collision had occurred.

The injured male was transported to hospital with major, non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the motor vehicle is described a female with a small build and blonde hair. There were two male passengers also in the motor vehicle.

Police request that the driver of the motor vehicle or anyone with information to contact police at immediately.
