(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On January 22, 2016 at approximately 12:40 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a 2004 Mazda well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 142 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
19-year-old Joseph PACE of Wellesley Township has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on March 2, 2016 to answer to the charge.
