(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On March 24, 2015, a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401 near Charing Cross Road.
Just after 9:30 p.m., the officer observed a westbound Ford car that appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. The RADAR registered a speed of 187 km/hr on the vehicle.
The 43 year old male driver from Oslo, Norway, has been charged with racing. The driver’s licence has been suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days, as per statute.
