(MUNICIPALITY OF MAGNETAWAN, ON) – On Monday June 29, 2015 at approximately 1:15 a.m., the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Parry Sound Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Magnetawan Fire Department attended Ahmic Lake Road for a single vehicle collision.
When police arrived at the collision, a male was attempting to remove the vehicle from an embankment, after the driver lost control and rolled the vehicle into the ditch, striking a tree. There were 5 people in the vehicle at the time of the collision. EMS and Magnetawan fire treated three passengers with minor injuries and one passenger was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police arrested and charged the driver, a 17 year old male from the Municipality of Magnetawan with the following offences;
• Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Contrary to Section 249(3) of the Criminal Code
• Fail to Remain, Contrary to Section 200(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act
• Novice Driver Blood Alcohol Content above Zero, Contrary to section 44.1(3) of the Highway Traffic Act
• Person Under 19 Consuming Liquor, Contrary to Section 30(8) of the Liquor Licence Act
Police also charged a 44 year old man from the Municipality of Magnetawan for the following offences;
• Obstruct Police Officer, Contrary to Section 129(a) of the Criminal Code
• Operate Unsafe Vehicle, Contrary to Section 84 of the Highway Traffic Act
• Permit Novice Driver to Drive in Contravention of Condition or Restriction, Contrary to Section 32(11.1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
Both accused were released from police custody and are scheduled to appear Ontario Court of Justice in Sundridge Ontario, on August 27, 2015.

OPP INVESTIGATE THEFT OF THREE ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLES
(MCMURRICH/MONTEITH TWP, ON) – On Saturday June 20, 2015 the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the theft of three All-Terrain vehicles (ATV) from a Fern Glen Road residence.
Sometime between Sunday June 7, 2015 and Sunday June 20, 2015 unknown person(s) entered the property and stole the three ATV’S from a covered shed. The ATV’S are described as a 2004 red Arctic Cat 500, a 2008 red Arctic Cat 366 and a 2009 yellow Suzuki King Quad.

OPP INVESTIGATE DAMAGE TO A MAGNETAWAN RESIDENCE
(MUNICIPALITY OF MAGNETAWAN, ON) – On Saturday July 4, 2015 the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police investigated a break and enter to a Highway 520 residence. Sometime between Monday July 1, 2015 and Saturday July 4, 2015 unknown person(s) entered the residence and damaged the inside by breaking lights, damaging doors and water pipes.
