(GUELPH/ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On March 5, 2017 at approximately 1:36 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 7 near Wellington Road 32 in Guelph/Eramosa Township. The officer observed a male driving a 2003 Audi at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 123 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.
A 17-year-old male of Kitchener has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 3, 2017. His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
