(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated an incident after being called to a Windham East Quarter Line Road, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Thursday, July 16, 2015 at approximately 9:06 p.m., police were contacted by a concerned motorist after observing a suspicious vehicle parked on the shoulder of the roadway.
Through investigation it was determined that the driver of a grey coloured Jeep Liberty was stopped at the side of the roadway and is suspected of abandoning approximately 17 kittens.
A passing motorist was able to provide police with a licence plate number and description of the vehicle.
As a result of investigation, police have charged 57-year-old Kenneth Harvey HASKETT of Norfolk County, Ontario with cause damage or injury to animal contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charge.
