Two loaded firearms and over $10,000 worth of drugs and cash have been taken off the streets by the London Police Service.
On Wednesday, November 19, 2014, members of the Guns and Drugs Section, consisting of members of the London Police Service and RCMP, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant at an Ernest Avenue residence.
Guns and Drugs
The following items were seized:
– Norinco AK 47-style rifle, loaded
– 22 rounds of 7.62 ammunition
– Colt 45 handgun, loaded
– 35 rounds of 45 calibre ammunition
– Pepper spray
– 93 grams of cocaine – $9,300
– $1,080 cash
As a result of the investigation, Justin Kunz (19) of London, has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
– Possess loaded regulated firearm (x2), contrary to section 95(1);
– Careless storage of firearm/ammunition (x3), contrary to section 86(1);
– Possess prohibited/restricted firearm without a licence (x2), contrary to section 92(1);
– Possess restricted device, contrary to section 92(2);
– Possess prohibited weapon, contrary to section 92(2);
– Fail to comply with conditions of undertaking (x5), contrary to section 145(5.1); and
– Possess firearm/ammunition/weapon while prohibited (x5), contrary to section 117.01(1).
Justin Kunz was further charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
