OPP Remind All Students “Beach Day” First Friday Of June

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment want to acknowledge that the first Friday of June has been declared by area students as “beach day.”

Although not supported by authorities, students leave school with and without parental permission to attend the beaches of Long Point, Turkey Point and Port Dover.

The OPP wish to remind all students participating in “BEACH DAY” that the Norfolk OPP will be completing enhanced patrols in and around the beach areas throughout Norfolk County.

Officers will be patrolling the beaches for the day and will be focusing their attention on those who fail to make safety a priority.

There will be enforcement of all Highway Traffic Act, Liquor, Trespassing and Criminal Code violations. Officers will be looking for underage drinking, drinking, and driving, trespassing, property damage and other actions that put other people or property at risk.
