Methamphetamine Bust

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a pair of Huron County residents with a number of criminal offences following an investigation conducted in Exeter yesterday morning.

On September 8, 2021 shortly before 11:45 a.m. members of the Huron OPP Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) were conducting foot patrols along the Thames River at the end of William Street and Church Street when they located a make-shift campsite.

Upon closer inspection police observed two persons at the shelter that had some illegal drugs out in plain view. Both persons were arrested and searched incident to arrest. The subsequent search revealed they were in possession of suspected Methamphetamine, Fentanyl and Hydromorphone. 

The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $800.

Upon completion of some checks police also learned the two accused were not supposed to not have communication with each other. 

As a result, both were taken into custody and charged.

Craig SNELL, 40 years of age from Huron County is charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Fentanyl, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Hydromorphone, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, Fail to Comply with Undertaking and two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order. 

Jordan WOODS, 25 years of age from Huron County is charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Fentanyl, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Hydromorphone and Fail to Comply with an Undertaking.  

Both accused have since been released from custody with court appearances scheduled for October 4, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice.
