Suspended Driver From Wingham Caught Speeding In Stolen Vehicle – HOPPER

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – A Wingham resident is facing a number of charges following a recent traffic stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Belgrave.

On Thursday, August 26, 2021 just before 10:00 p.m. a Huron OPP officer observed a motor vehicle speeding in the 50 km/h speed zone. A traffic stop was conducted and upon doing some checks the investigating officer learned the driver held a suspended driver’s licence. Additionally, police learned the motor vehicle in question had been taken without consent. 

Upon arrest the investigating officer also found the accused in possession of a stolen credit card. 

Kristen HOPPER, 35 years of age from Wingham has been charged with Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent, Possession of a Stolen Credit Card, Drive While Under Suspension and Speeding.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for September 27, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
