Fatal Collision On 86

(ASHFIELD COLBORNE WAWANOSH TOWNSHIP, ON) – A two-vehicle motor vehicle collision involving a passenger vehicle and a pickup truck and trailer combination has claimed two lives. 

Just before 08:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20^th, 2024, members from Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), South Bruce OPP, Huron County and Bruce County Paramedic Services, and Lucknow Fire Department responded to a location East of Lucknow on Amberley Road, also known as Bruce Road 86 in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township after receiving a 9-1-1 call about a collision.

Upon arrival, emergency services located both heavily damaged vehicles and discovered that the driver of the passenger vehicle sustained fatal injury and was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger in the pickup truck was also pronounced deceased at the scene. A second passenger in the pickup truck received serious injury and was flown by air ambulance to London for further treatment. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital for minor injury.

Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation. Amberley Road was closed for several hours and has since been re-opened.

The investigation is ongoing, and the cause of the collision is being investigated. 

The deceased driver was a 54-year-old Huron-Kinloss Township resident.

The deceased passenger was a 49-year-old Municipality of Brockton resident. 

The ages of the second involved driver and passenger are 49 and 39 years-of-age respectively.
