17 Year Old From St. Marys Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(HURON-KINLOSS) — A resident from St. Marys has been charged with multiple impaired operation charges following a traffic stop in the Municipality of Huron-Kinloss.

South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police officers were patrolling the Municipality of Huron -Kinloss on the night of Saturday Aug. 29, at 4:41 a.m. when they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. During the interaction, officers observed signs of impairment with the driver and placed them under arrest.

A 17-year-old youth from St. Marys has been charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus

The accused was released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Walkerton on October 5, 2026.

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.
