(Mississauga, ON) The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding a collision yesterday in Windsor that resulted in the death of a 33-year-old man.
Preliminary information suggests the following:
- At approximately 4 p.m. on August 30, 2026, a Windsor Police Service officer observed a pickup truck of interest that was travelling northbound on St. Luke Road. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle.
- The pickup truck did not stop and continued travelling northbound on St. Luke Road at a high rate of speed.
- In the area of St. Luke Road and Seminole Street, the pickup truck became involved in a collision with two other vehicles, one being a Dodge Journey.
- The 33-year-old male driver of Dodge Journey succumbed to his injuries.
Three investigators and three forensic investigators have been assigned to the case.
