FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION – 7TH LINE GREY HIGHLANDS

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at approximately 10:44 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single motor vehicle collision on the 7th Line, between Grey Rd. 40 and Sideroad 25 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

The vehicle was travelling south bound on the 7th Line when it left the road and struck a large tree on the east side of the roadway. The vehicle rolled and came to rest on its roof.

CPR was performed on the lone male driver who was extricated from the vehicle. The victim was transported to the Meaford Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. The deceased’s identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

Grey County Emergency Services (EMS) and the Meaford Fire Department assisted at the scene.

The OPP West Regional Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit is assisting with the investigation.

The 7th Line, south of Grey Rd. 40 to Sideroad 25 is expected to remain closed for approximately another hour for emergency responders.
