OXFORD FESTIVE RIDE STATISTICS

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON.) – The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has wrapped up the 2013 Provincial Festive R.I.D.E. Campaign.

In Oxford County OPP area during the time frame of November 23, 2013 to January 2, 2014, 115 R.I.D.E programs were conducted on area roads with the hopes of Reducing Impaired Driving incidents.

Locally there was four, warn range driver’s licence suspensions issued and eight drivers were arrested and charged with Impaired Driving.

“My officers will continue into 2014 to reduce the number of drivers who operate a motor vehicle impaired on our area roads and trails. Ultimately we would like to see that number reduced to zero.” said Inspector Tim Clark.

OPP reminds all drivers to do their part to help keep our communities safe and not endanger themselves or others by choosing to drive impaired.
