(Oro-Medonte, ON)- On January 15th, 2014 shortly after 1:00 am, an officer from the Barrie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 11 in Oro-Medonte Twp. The officer observed a blue Mazda traveling southbound at a rate of speed higher than the posted limit.
A check was conducted of the male driver which revealed he was currently under suspension for unpaid fines and that the vehicle was reported stolen. The driver was placed under arrest for Possession of Property obtained by Crime. A subsequent search of his vehicle uncovered a quantity of cash and drugs.
David BASTIEN 30 years old from Scarborough is Charged with the following – Trafficking Schedule I – Cocaine – Possession for the Purpose Schedule II – Cannabis Marihuana
– Trafficking Schedule I – Methylenedioxyamphetamine (Ecstasy) X 2
– Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
– Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
BASTIEN is scheduled to appear at the Provincial Courts in Barrie for a bail hearing on Wednesday January 15th 2014.
