(MADAWASKA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On January 19, 2014 at approximately 7:50pm, members of the Killaloe detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an injured male at the hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries as a result of a domestic assault that occurred at a residence in Madawaska Township.
Upon an investigation by the Renfrew County Crime Unit and Killaloe OPP officers, it was determined that the victim, a 42-year-old man, was assaulted with a weapon by his 38-year-old girlfriend, both of Madawaska Township. The victim was treated at hospital for his injuries and later released.
The 38-year-old female was arrested and is presently in custody facing charges of:
1. Attempt Murder
2. Break and Enter and Theft
3. Mischief Under $5000 (3 counts)
She scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke later today.
