OPP INVESTIGATING FATAL PEDESTRIAN COLLISION

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision at a Simcoe Street, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Friday, March 7, 2014 at approximately 11:55 a.m., the Norfolk County OPP and Norfolk County Paramedics were dispatched to the Norfolk Mall in the parking lot of the Zehrs Market directly in front of the store.

Through investigation it has been determined that a 2012 green Ford Focus was in the process of travelling westbound in the parking lot when a pedestrian that was walking southbound through the parking lot collided.

The 76 year old female was transported to a local area hospital with life threatening injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased by the attending physician.

Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation.

Identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation is continuing.
