(PICKLE LAKE, ON) – On March 23, 2014 officers of the Pickle Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle speeding on Highway 599 South of Pickle Lake. Officers initiated a traffic stop which yielded the discovery of a quantity of Marihuana.
As a result of the investigation a 17 year old male from Bearskin Lake First Nation has been charged with Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. As the accused is a young person his identity cannot be released.
He is scheduled to appear before an Ontario Youth Court of Justice in Pickle Lake on May 2, 2014.
