(Markstay-Warren, ON) -On July 1st , 2014 just after 8:00 AM, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began receiving calls about a black mini-van traveling at very high rates of speed Northbound on Highway 69. The vehicle was also reported to be on the wrong side of the road and forcing oncoming traffic to take evasive action.
The reports came from motorists on Highways 69, 64, and 535.
The suspect vehicle and driver were located on Highway 539 in the Municipality of Markstay-Warren. The 52 year old male driver from Markham ON was taken into custody for dangerous and stunt driving. He is being held pending a bail hearing on July 2nd in Sudbury.
There were no collisions reported in this incident.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is continuing to investigate.
