ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE(S) CAUSE DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On Monday, August 11, 2014 at approximately 4:11 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of damage to property done by all-terrain vehicle(s) (ATVs) at Lystek International Inc., located at 191 Eco Park Way, in the Township of Southgate.

Sometime within 24 hours of the report, unknown person(s) operated ATVs over an area of dirt that was being prepared for a new sludge pond, causing approximately $5,000 damage to the property. The pond was in the process of being prepared to have a liner installed.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Police remind ATV operators to check with the local municipality as to where the ATVs may be ridden.

Operating an ATV on private property is prohibited unless permission is granted by the property owner. Violators may face charges under the Trespass to Property Act as well as the Criminal Code.
