(Alfred-Plantagenet, ON) – Officers of the Hawkesbury OPP are investigating a collision that occurred today on County Road 17 Shortly before 3 pm.
A Kia was heading eastbound on County Road 17 when a blue, two door Mazda, late model, passed the Kia on the left and hit the car that lost control and collided with an oncoming truck that was heading westbound in the opposite lane.
The lone female who was driving the Kia sustained non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was injured.
The Mazda fled the scene and police are looking for this vehicle. It is described as a blue two door hatchback Mazda 3 with damage on the driver’s side. Police believe the driver of the suspect vehicle was a male. The vehicle was last seen heading eastbound from the Wendover area.
The road has been closed since and is expected to be closed for a few hours. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible. A detour was set up between County Roads 25 and 19.
