(CAVAN – MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Peterborough were at the scene of a double collision on Hwy 115 south of Tapley Quarter Line today.
The initial call police responded to was a single vehicle in the northbound ditch. An 82 year old Bowmanville man pulled off the roadway onto the shoulder losing control of his vehicle and rolling into the ditch. Both driver and 82 year old passenger were transported to PRHC with minor injuries. No charges are to be laid.
While managing this scene, officers observed a northbound motorist rear end a vehicle moving by the collision scene. Both drivers were sent to PRHC as well, with minor injuries. The driver of the following vehicle, Moin ALI, 23 of Toronto has been charged with careless driving.
Motorists are reminded of the importance to slow down, move over and keep their eyes ahead when passing collision scenes.
