(CALEDON, ON)- On August 24th, 2014 officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were patrolling in the area of Kennedy Road and Dougall Avenue in the Town of Caledon. The officers observed a being Nissan Murano without attached plates. The officers stopped the motor vehicle to investigate. The officers immediately detected a strong odour of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. Upon closer examination, the officers located a quantity of green plant material, believed to be marijuana, on the driver’s lap. As a result, the driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and a search of the vehicle uncovered a larger quantity of green plant material and alcohol readily accessible to him.
Further investigation uncovered that the driver was bound by an Undertaking Order with a condition to not consume or possess alcohol.
In conclusion, Robert PIEDALUE, 50, of Montreal Quebec was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Fail to Comply with Undertaking. He is further charged with Operate Motor Vehicle with no Insurance.
The accused was held in custody and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville the following day.
