(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to patrol our highways in an effort to make them safe for all who use them.
On September 5, 2013 an OPP officer was patrolling on Kawartha Lakes Road 36 when a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed was observed. The officer stopped the vehicle, which had been driving at 149 km/h in an 80 km/h zone, and charged the driver. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Charged with racing a motor vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, is Rudy INGRAM, 18 years of age, of Bobcaygeon. The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on November 12, 2013.
On September 6, 2013 an OPP officer conducted a vehicle stop and the subsequent investigation revealed that the driver was suspended under the Highway Traffic Act.
As a result of the investigation Geoffry HICKSON, 50 years of age, of Reaboro, was charged with driving while under suspension. The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on November 21, 2013.
