(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a sudden death at a Colonel Talbot Road, Courtland, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Saturday, September 21, 2013 at approximately 12:30 p.m., the Norfolk County OPP, Norfolk County Fire Services and Norfolk County Paramedics responded to a tobacco farm located on Colonel Talbot Road.
Through investigation it was determined that a male was working in a tobacco field and was operating a tobacco harvesting tractor. A member working on the farm noticed that the tractor had stopped in the middle of the field and went to check on the operator.
The operator was located underneath the tractor and had suffered life threatening injuries. He was subsequently transported to the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by attending physicians.
The deceased has been identified as 54 year old Manuel Joseph OLIVEIRA from Bayham, Ontario.
