(LEEDS and THOUSAND ISLANDS, ON) – On Saturday, October 26, 2013, at approximately 8:50am, an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Enforcement Team (HET) conducted a traffic stop on Highway 401, eastbound, in the Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands.
As a result of an investigation, officers seized over 65 lbs of cocaine with a street value of over $2,900,000.
The driver of the Chrysler 300, a 27-year-old male from Montreal, Quebec was arrested and held in custody to appear by video in the Ontario Court of Justice, Brockville on October 27, 2013.
The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau. .
