(Selwyn Township) – On Sunday November 16, 2014, at approximately 6 a.m. officers from the Peterborough County OPP where called to investigate a collision on Lakefield Road
Upon arriving at the scene officers investigated a single motor vehicle collision on Lakefield Road at the 8th Line of Smith. A 2006 Volkswagon had lost control and struck a hydro pole on Lakefield Road. The pole was broken and the vehicle rolled over and came to rest on the southbound lane of Lakefield Road.
The driver was removed from the vehicle by emergency services. EMS treated him for injuries sustained during the collision and he was transported to Peterborough Regional Health Centre where he was treated for nonlife threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation the vehicle driver, 31 year old Andrew STAINTON of the City of Peterborough was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation and Dangerous Operation.
PINK was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Peterborough Provincial Courts on January 29, 2015.
