(CALEDON, ON) – On April 4th, 2015 shortly before 11 pm, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE (Reducing Impaired Driving Everywhere) check at King Street and Mississauga Road. A male operating a gray Honda approached the check and officers immediately observed that the driver displayed signs of impairment by alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to Detachment for testing.
As a result, Tausif AHMED, 28, from Scarborough was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
The 90-day Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused was released and he is scheduled to make a first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on April 16th, 2015.
